Athreya Ayurveda was founded in 1996 by Dr. B. Gireesh and Dr. J. Padmadevi, continuing a family practice of Ayurveda that began in a traditional Kalari. Today the centre is led by Dr. S.P. Sreejit and Dr. Jayalakshmi G.
A Vision Beyond Commercial Healing
Dr. Gireesh and Dr. Padmadevi started Athreya with one aim: to practise Ayurveda the way it is meant to be practised — by physicians, one patient at a time, without packages or shortcuts.
In practice, that means every treatment begins with a detailed consultation, medicines are prepared only after a doctor decides the formulation, and progress is reviewed every day.

Rooted in Tradition, Guided by Knowledge
The family’s practice goes back six generations and 180 years — from the Kalari of Ayyappan Pillai Vaidyan, to SNV Vaidyashala (1921), Balakrishna Pharmacy (1960) and Athreya Ayurveda (1996).
Each generation kept the classical methods and added what its time needed: a clinic, a pharmacy, and today NABH-accredited medical standards.
