The Athreya Legacy Tree: six generations of Ayurvedic physicians, from Vakasheri to Pallom
Six generations

A Living Heritage of Ayurveda

The story of Athreya begins in Vakasheri, where our family lived generations ago. According to family tradition, a Lada Guru of the Lada Parampara came to Vakasheri and stayed with the family. He shared his knowledge of medicine and left behind palm-leaf manuscripts describing the uses of medicines, which the family still preserves today.

From this beginning, the knowledge was carried forward for 180 years through six generations: from learning to practice, from practice to service, and from one generation to the next.

This is not just a family tree. It is a Legacy Tree, a timeline of the physicians and healers whose work laid the foundation for Athreya’s philosophy today.
